Heya folks, we kept getting messages on it so we put the song in the last flash up on bandcamp. If you want it go at it, its just a dollar.
Oh hey, guys. Look at this thing right here
The second half of the piece I wrote for the fantastic webcomic Olympus Overdrive came out in a really neat flash today.
It’s titled Dischord, and is the follow up to the piece in last week’s flash.
I only learned about this comic a little less than two weeks ago and now that I’ve read and caught up with it, I am very happy to be a collaborator on some extent with this beautiful project!
I often forget to post these on my music blog, but reblogging works too.
Hey everyone! I was recently commissioned to write up a piece for the webcomic Olympus Overdrive!
I’m pretty excited about it. I wrote this short, loopable (which is why it ends “suddenly”) track called Dischord. It’s a theme for the evil Bitchess Eris. This is a pretty interesting comic that features another Homestuck musician, Andrew Huo! I actually used one of his melodies in the second half of the track. Stay tuned for another update coming up soon for some more tunage, mayhaps.
Rowing: the first half of my new compilation album

(art by Worthikids, title by Robert J! Lake)
Good news, everyone!
My long discussed piano album is finally (slowly) being released! Rowing is the first of two short compilations of my recent compositions. Originally sketched for only piano, similar to my first album Sburb, it has now opened up quite a bit in instrumentation!
Rowing features four compositions by myself. If you follow my music blog, you’ve most likely heard each one! The reason is because they were all works in progress toward this album. Two tracks, Adagio and Icarus, are the result of commissions I received over the summer. Meadows was originally a piece I thought of for Homestuck but later readapted for a solo release. It’s a much larger ensemble than the other three. Valse is a piano and cello duet that I am quite proud of!
Requesting Your Permission
Hello Tyler!
I’m writing you this note because I would like to ask for your permission to use one of your songs for a school project. I am a huge fan of Homestuck and of the contributions you’ve made to the webcomic through your compositions. Your solo album Sburb is one of my absolute favourites.
Other than being a Homestuck fangirl, I am also a second year Graphic Design student. One of the projects I’m currently working on is a stop motion audio-visual presentation, and I would like to use one of your songs in my final, with your permission, of course. I haven’t decided on which track I’ll be using but be assured that you and anyone else involved in realizing the track will be credited properly in my presentation (as required by my teacher). Also, I do not intend to sell and/or post my project, on the Internet or elsewhere. It will most likely be part of my portfolio, though.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider my request, it’s greatly appreciated. If there’s anything else that you’re concerned about please let me know, I don’t want to make this troublesome for you.
Good luck with your studies and keep making beautiful music!
Sincerely,
Leeza G.
Yeah that sounds pretty awesome! You should post the video on dumblr and tag me when it’s done though, I’d like to see it!
Hey all, it’s been a while! I’m proud to release my newly finished piece Adagio for solo piano. This is the second commission piece of four from my summer donation drive to get this computer. I am very excited to release Adagio because it is in sharp contrast to my last commission, Icarus. Where Icarus was a fast paced mixed meter joyride, Adagio follows its name and is a calm waltz through mystery. Adding to that, in example, is its structural basis of 7th chords.
As a composer, I recognize that a large flaw my works tend to have is a lack of a strong melody or, in some cases, one entirely. I wrote out the chord progression and had it looping through Sibelius as I played along on the piano attempting to discover a melody I could grab onto, and this is what came of it.
The piece follows a sort of extended ternary form with a main theme separated by repeated secondary themes. I am more used to through composing pieces so this was a breath of fresh air as well!
I hope you all enjoy it! My next large commitment coming along extremely well is my solo project that was also largely funded by that Summer drive. I hope you can all wait a little longer, because I am very excited about what is to come!
New piece coming out soon
My second commission will probably be out tonight if I can help it! I’m very much in love with it. I have a third piece complete but I want to record it before I release it because I cannot possibly program Sibelius to play the weird ending to it.
I just noticed
The extremely large group of followers I just gained. Hello everyone! Welcome to my music blog (if you want my personal shenanigans, they’re here). I update this every now and then but I have a crazy semester putting a big wet blanket on my musical endeavors. More to come in the future, so stay tuned and thanks for the follow!
